Dog Was So Abused In The Past That Now She “Soils Herself” When Anyone Comes Close

For any true dog lover, seeing a stray dog struggling to survive on the streets is a heartbreaking sight. Sadly, the blame often lies with cruel individuals, making it even more painful to witness.

The cruelty that some dogs endure is unimaginable, especially when inflicted by the very people they once trusted. Unfortunately, there are countless examples of dogs suffering due to abuse, but one recent case stands out as particularly disturbing. Rosie, a Cocker Spaniel, along with her mother Jessie and seven siblings, was rescued by the WNRSPCA through the efforts of an inspector.

According to the charity, these dogs had endured a life filled with immense suffering. While the full details of their abuse aren’t known, it’s clear the cruelty was severe. “It wasn’t a good situation,” Center manager Emily Cole told Newsweek. “They had no socialization, no training, and were not house trained. When they arrived, they were all absolutely terrified of people and the world around them.” – Watch Video Below

All nine dogs were in poor physical and mental health, but Rosie stood out as the most traumatized.

“The dogs were all filthy, underweight, and infested with fleas,” the charity reported. “But Rosie was by far the most terrified—she would scream and lose control of her bladder out of sheer fear when anyone came near her.” – Watch Video Below

Witnessing Rosie’s terror broke Emily’s heart, bringing her close to tears. But it also fueled her determination to help Rosie and her family recover and find happiness.

Research in Applied Animal Behavior Science shows that just 15 minutes of one-on-one interaction can significantly improve a shelter dog’s well-being. Emily knew this and devoted herself fully to caring for these dogs, especially Rosie.

“With lots of patience, gentle interactions, and careful handling, they’ve all shown tremendous progress,” Emily said. “Rosie and her mother Jessie, in particular, have had one of the most remarkable transformations I’ve seen in my 14 years of rescue.”

This transformation is beautifully captured in a TikTok video showing Rosie’s journey from a terrified pup to one who now enjoys cuddles and affection.

The happy news didn’t stop there. Rosie and her mother, Jessie, found their forever home, leaving behind a life of fear and pain for one filled with love and comfort.
