Black-legged Ticks: What You Need to Know

Blacklegged ticks, also known as deer ticks, are tiny arachnids commonly found in wooded and grassy areas.

They are of particular concern because they can carry and transmit various diseases to humans, including Lyme disease. WATCH VIDEO BELOW

These ticks are typically dark in color and have a distinctive black shield on their back. While they are most active in spring and fall, they can bite year-round, even during mild winters.
