Dog Surrendered To A Shelter Became Depressed After Realizing His Owner Is Not Coming Back

As I read the story I’m about to share, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sadness.

When dogs are adopted, they often can’t fathom the idea that their owners might abandon them, making it all the more heartbreaking when it happens. This story is particularly tragic because the dog’s owners surrendered him to the very shelter where they first met. WATCH VIDEO BELOW

Buddy was initially taken to an animal shelter in Texas because his owner was facing serious health issues and could no longer care for him. This left Buddy devastated, as he couldn’t understand why he was being left behind.

Unfortunately, things got worse for Buddy as his own health began to decline. The shelter staff noticed he was having trouble walking and recognized he needed someone to support him during his recovery. WATCH VIDEO BELOW

In a race against time, they searched for a medical foster home, as Buddy was on the euthanasia list and had little time left. Then, a miracle occurred: a kind soul stepped in to take him home. When his new parents arrived at his kennel, Buddy perked up at the sight of treats, sensing a glimpse of care and compassion.

Once they placed him in their car, Buddy felt a wave of relief, knowing he was headed to a safe haven. The next day, they took him to the vet, where he was diagnosed with yeast dermatitis, stiff joints, and sore legs. Fortunately, they were able to provide him with the medication he needed to heal. As the days went by, Buddy’s new family noticed how much happier he had become. One of his favorite pastimes is napping next to his dad, and he loves playing with toys.

Meal times are particularly exciting for Buddy, especially since he has developed a fondness for ham, making each meal feel like a special occasion.
