Recently, I came across a story that broke mine: the story of Nik. Severely injured, Nik dragged his hind legs through the mud, struggling to move. He could only take a few painful steps before pausing to drink from a puddle, his only source of water. A passerby spotted Nik in this devastating condition, alone in the mud with his back legs completely paralyzed.

With no food or water nearby, Nik relied on that puddle for sustenance. The kind person immediately contacted local rescuers, who rushed to the scene. The team of volunteers had no trouble scooping him up; Nik was completely calm and had put all his faith in humanity. The woman and the vet team dedicated their time and patience to Nik’s treatment, showering him with love and care. After months of dedication, they received wonderful news: a family wanted to adopt Nik!
