A little blonde pup felt miserable after heartless people abandoned her on the streets just as she was about to give birth. Dragging her tired paws into a stranger’s yard, she found a safe place to welcome her puppies into the world. The newborns clung to their mama, seeking love and comfort. Despite being kicked out of the home where she could have raised her children, the brave mama refused to succumb to sadness. She curled up next to her sweet babies, hoping everything would be alright.
When a California resident noticed the little pup lying in the yard, they slowly approached her. As they got closer, the Good Samaritan discovered that the dog was guarding a litter of newborn puppies. The mother dog looked at them with a mix of fear and sorrow in her soulful eyes. The kind person reached out to Suzette Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, who immediately responded and headed to the scene with her team of volunteers. CONTINUE BELOW
Upon arrival, the rescuers felt heartbroken to see the malnourished mama feeding her newborns. They spoke gently to the dog, later named Carol, showering her with encouraging words and assuring her that she and her puppies were safe. However, the moment Carol saw them coming closer, she ran away. “When we first got there, Mama was safe with them, but she escaped and ran off. She wanted to return to her babies but was too afraid,” Hall wrote in a Facebook post.
The rescuers scooped up the puppies and devised a plan to capture the scared mother. Hall set a trap with delicious treats in the yard. Unable to resist the enticing food, the hungry dog entered the crate. Once the door closed behind her, Carol began to panic, searching for her babies. Understanding her worries, the rescuers quickly reunited her with her puppies. Carol felt a wave of relief wash over her as she held them close and cuddled with them. CONTINUE BELOW
Hall took Carol and her six puppies to Camino Pet Hospital in Irvine, California, for a medical examination. Fortunately, the puppies were in excellent health, and they moved to a foster home together with their mama. Their foster family lavished them with attention and love. Realizing she and her puppies were safe, Carol’s fears began to fade. She allowed her rescuer to pet her, her eyes shining with gratitude.
“When I got her to her foster home, she knew she was safe. She let me love her and helped her learn to nurse. Then she cuddled up to her puppies, knowing she was rescued and wouldn’t have to go through anything alone,” Hall wrote. Carol enjoys caring for her puppies, Bobby, Jan, Greg, Marcia, Peter, and Cindy, named after the beloved TV family. CONTINUE BELOW
With each passing day, the pups are thriving more and more. Second Leash On Life, a rescue based in San Diego, California, took them under their care, promising to help them find their forever homes. I’m confident that this adorable canine family will find the happy ending they deserve.
