A person who is ready to adopt and care for a helpless animal is someone with a huge heart. Now, can you imagine how big the heart of someone who provides shelter to over 100 furry creatures must be? Such people do exist, embodied in a family from Ohio. Rachel Webster and her husband Tyler, along with their three children, have fostered 140 dogs so far. Unfortunately, not everyone is like the Websters. The tragic story of the 141st dog they welcomed into their home is a testament to that. Carly, a Golden Retriever, was used for breeding in a puppy mill and endured brutal abuse for years. After she was no longer deemed useful, she was handed over to another breeder, where her situation worsened.
Fortunately, a compassionate individual intervened, determined to break this cycle of cruelty. She found a family willing to provide Carly with a warm home. However, just when everyone thought Carly had found her safe haven, heartbreak struck—this family decided to surrender her to a shelter because she refused to enter a crate on command. Once again, the kind soul stepped in, urging them to place Carly with a rescue facility instead. This pivotal moment brought her under the care of the Webster family, who immediately took action. Carly became the 141st dog they fostered, but her journey was far from easy. She suffered from severe ear infections, requiring weeks of medication. Additionally, she had scars on her muzzle and never barked, suggesting she had been harshly punished for doing so.
Despite these challenges, the Websters were determined not to give up on Carly. The bond between her and the family grew strong, especially with their five-year-old daughter, Kennedy. Although Kennedy loved all the dogs they fostered, her connection with Carly was different. The two spent every moment together—playing, cuddling, hugging, and even sleeping side by side. It was, as the saying goes, love at first sight. WATCH VIDEO BELOW
Kennedy’s deep affection for Carly inspired the Websters to make a life-changing decision for the dog’s future. This suffering Golden Retriever finally became a cherished member of a loving family. “Sometimes they adopt us.”
Just like that, Carly transformed from an abused breeding dog into the happiest Golden Retriever in the world. She had finally found her perfect human, someone who healed the deep wounds in her soul. The entire Webster family was overjoyed and decided to share their happiness with the world. WATCH VIDEO BELOW
“Our puppy mill foster Carly made it impossible for us not to adopt her when she chose our daughter as her human. Sometimes they adopt us,” they wrote in the caption of a video. This story once again proves that the genuine love of compassionate individuals can triumph over malice in the end. All it takes is love strong enough to make a difference.
