Rescuing dogs is not just a one-time endeavor; it’s a lifelong mission. Once you commit, you’re in it for the long haul. Suzette Hall, a dedicated rescuer from California, understood this well. However, she also faced the emotional toll of witnessing abandoned, neglected, and injured dogs every day. Some days, she found herself anxiously waiting outside the vet clinic, hoping for good news but fearing the worst for her rescues.

One day, Hall received a heart-wrenching call. Employees at a local movie theater in Southern California reached out about a dog lying helplessly outside. Tragically, the dog was severely injured and unable to move, simply waiting for someone to notice her and offer kindness. Without hesitation, Hall rushed to the location, knowing that time was critical for this life-saving mission. CONTINUE STORY BELOW

Unfortunately, no one seemed to know anything about the dog or how long she had been suffering. The extent of her pain was unimaginable. The pup, later named Naomi, was quickly admitted to the clinic for treatment, but her prognosis was grim. The vets determined that Naomi likely sought shelter under a car in the neighborhood when she was run over. An X-ray revealed that both sides of her pelvis were shattered, resulting in total paralysis.

On top of her injuries, Naomi was in severe pain. The medical team concluded that her condition was beyond repair, leaving them with no viable options. Tragically, little Naomi, who had shown such bravery until the end, passed away just hours later, leaving Hall and the clinic staff heartbroken. “My heart is shattered. I couldn’t save her… I would have done anything to help her, but it just wasn’t possible,” Hall wrote in an update. CONTINUE STORY BELOW

Though she knew Naomi for only a short time, the dog’s genuine sweetness had captured Hall’s heart. “Rest easy, sweet Naomi. You are free to run and play again. You touched my heart deeply,” Hall reflected. In Naomi’s loving memory, Hall and her compassionate team at Logan’s Legacy will continue their vital work.

They recognize that every abandoned and stray dog deserves a chance, and they will strive to offer hope to these animals, just as they did for dear Naomi. CONTINUE STORY BELOW
