An abandoned dog left to fend for itself is sadly becoming a common sight, and each of these canine companions has a heartbreaking story behind them. In this case, the true villain is the very person who should have ensured the dog’s life was filled with joy and love—the human.
This was the situation for a senior dog named Kino, found wandering the streets of Oakland, California, in June 2024. Rescuers discovered him alone and, after a search, learned his owner had intentionally abandoned him. Determined not to give up on Kino, they transferred him to Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, an organization dedicated to fostering and adopting senior dogs. WATCH VIDEO BELOW
Lisa Arden, an experienced foster caregiver, welcomed Kino into her home. Initially shy and scared, he soon began to show his true, beautiful personality with the love and support from Lisa and her family.
To help him find a forever home, Lisa posted a video on her account, @allthefosterpups, describing him as a “happy, loyal, and loving dog.” WATCH VIDEO BELOW
The video garnered significant attention on TikTok, and just a week later, Lisa announced that a wonderful family had decided to adopt Kino. To celebrate this new chapter, she organized a farewell party for him.
Finally, Kino’s new family took him home, marking the start of a bright future. After all the challenges he faced, Kino had risen like a phoenix, ready to embrace a life filled with love and happiness. Good luck, wonderful boy! WATCH VIDEO BELOW
@allthefosterpups My wonderful senior foster dog, Kino, is available for adoption from Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco. He is a terrier mix and estimated to be about 10 years young. He weighs 21 lbs. He is shy at first but once he opens up he is the most loyal and loving boy who deserves the very best home after all he’s been through ♥️ #rescuedog #adoptme #dogs ♬ original sound – Lisa & Senior Pups
