When they needed love and tenderness from their owners the most, a mother dog and her puppies were abandoned at a deserted house in Arkansas. Fearing for the safety of her precious babies, the mother found shelter under the house and hid them there, feeling helpless and let down.
As her puppies huddled close, soaking up her love, the mama dog gathered strength, determined to protect them as best she could. After an experienced animal rescuer named Shyan Noah saw a Facebook post about the abandoned family, she rushed to help. CONTINUE BELOW
Before Noah arrived, other rescuers had attempted to bring them to safety, but the frightened mother refused their help. While she was distracted, the rescue team managed to capture a few of her puppies. When Noah reached the location, she saw the canine with a sorrowful expression on her tired face and decided to earn her trust.
Noah sat beside the dog, offering her food and speaking softly to convince her that she was there to help. Though the mother needed assistance, she couldn’t bring herself to trust humans with her precious babies. “I was able to gain Mama’s trust enough to let me feed her out of my hand and give her short little pets,” Noah told The Dodo. Since the mother remained cautious, the rescuers decided to set a humane trap to lure her in. They rejoiced when they finally succeeded in rescuing her.
Once the mother dog was safe, the focus shifted to saving the puppies, who were just as frightened and continued to hide under the house. For days, they evaded capture, but the rescuers eventually outsmarted them, breathing a sigh of relief when they succeeded. CONTINUE BELOW
The puppies were infested with ticks and fleas. Initially, they felt threatened and were reactive toward their rescuers, but it didn’t take long for trust to develop. The rescuers fed them and showered them with affection, helping the adorable puppies feel secure.
One of the rescuers fell in love with the mother dog and offered her a forever home, while Noah took the puppies in to foster them. They are thriving and healing, always keeping their foster family active and on their toes. “They are happy, healthy little escape artists. They love squeezing through the gates of their foster room and into the rest of the house,” Noah added.
