Due to unexpected life circumstances, dog owners sometimes face heartbreaking decisions about surrendering their pets to shelters. Dogs who are abandoned often struggle to understand why they must continue their lives without their beloved owners.
Bella and Bobby felt immense sadness as they found themselves in front of a shelter, confused and scared. The two pups cowered in a small pink crate, wondering why they were left all alone. When a staff member at the Pennsylvania SPCA arrived for work, they were surprised to see the crate and rushed over to see what was inside. CONTINUE BELOW
As the staff member approached and read the note left on top, their heart broke. The owner explained that it was their last day at home and that they had nowhere else to take their dogs. “I love them so much. Please take care of them and find them a nice home,” a part of the note read.
The staff member brought the two eight-year-old Chihuahuas inside the shelter, feeding them and providing fresh water. The frightened pups kept hoping to see their family members enter the shelter and run into their arms. The shelter staff quickly fell in love with the sweet dogs, spending time cuddling them to help them feel secure. Bella and Bobby soon realized they were in good hands and felt safe and loved. As they adjusted to their new environment, their playful personalities began to shine. The shelter started looking for foster homes for them, and EnVi Dog Rescue and Animal Sanctuary, a rescue specializing in seniors and special needs animals, took them in, promising to find them a loving family.
Bella and Bobby were thrilled to be at the sanctuary, eager to meet new people and hopeful about finding a great forever home. They quickly settled into their foster home, enjoying snuggles and walks with their fosters. CONTINUE BELOW
