At the vet, the doctor informed him that the dog was fortunate—if more time had passed, she could have lost her leg. The vet treated her injury and prescribed medication. While recovery would take some time, she was expected to heal well. This news brought relief to the rescuer, who then planned his next steps. After ten days, they returned to the vet for a routine check-up. The doctor confirmed that her injury was healing nicely but recommended a minor surgery to disinfect the wound. The procedure went smoothly, and the dog, now named Keiko, returned to her rescuer’s home, where her health and spirit improved dramatically. Seeing her smile again brought immense joy to her rescuer. Keiko soon had a canine friend to play with, and they looked adorable running around outside together.
The rescuer also discovered that Keiko loved playing in the water and had a penchant for cleanliness. If she got dirty, she would feel uncomfortable, so he always helped her get cleaned up. While he initially considered finding a new home for her, he realized it was already too late. He wanted her to stay, so he officially adopted her. Keiko is now a cherished member of the family.
