It’s disheartening to see abandoned dogs left to fend for themselves, and it always breaks the hearts of compassionate people and true dog lovers. This was the case recently for a woman named Stephanie Castillo, who encountered a situation that made her stomach turn. She found a small cage containing seven dogs outside a rescue organization in Chino Hills, California.
Seeing these poor animals in such distress compelled Stephanie to take action. Although she had little experience in dealing with situations like this, she knew she had to help. With the dogs left outside Priceless Pet Rescue, it made sense to seek assistance from them. Unfortunately, the organization was closed that day, leaving her feeling frustrated but determined. “They seemed to have been there for a while, sitting in their own filth and panting,” Stephanie later recounted. “I also noticed a blind senior dog in really bad shape.” Recognizing the urgency of the situation, she reached out to her local humane society. Just when she thought help was on the way, she received an unexpected response: they could come, but only in a few hours.
Knowing she couldn’t wait that long, Stephanie made the difficult decision to take the dogs home with her. Upon arriving at her house, she felt a surge of relief at finally freeing them from the cage. However, her heart sank when she saw the true extent of their condition. WATCH VIDEO BELOW
“They looked like they had been through a lot,” Stephanie reflected. After they were fed and given a short walk, the dogs began to feel a little better. Soon, the humane society arrived to transfer them to Priceless Pet Rescue in Costa Mesa, California.
Though the dogs had a long journey ahead before finding their forever homes, Stephanie was thrilled they finally had a chance for a new beginning. The rescue organization named them Hal, Reese, Dewey, Francis, Malcolm, Lois, and Rudy, and began promoting their stories on social media to attract potential adopters. Four of the dogs found loving families quickly, leaving just three still looking for their perfect match. Given everything they endured, they truly deserve nothing less than a happy ending.
