When officers arrived, they found a note that explained the dogs’ unfortunate situation.
The scene was distressing: six dogs were roaming without supervision or anyone claiming them. The note revealed that the dogs had been rescued from an elderly woman who could no longer care for them. According to the note, the brown-coated dogs are about a year and a half old, while the fluffy ones are slightly younger, just under a year. Unfortunately, the person who took the dogs in could not keep them due to their apartment’s no-pet policy. Left with no alternative, they decided the dog park might be a temporary safe spot.
In an official statement, the Morrisville Borough Police Department noted that the unknown rescuer likely felt the park was the best option for the dogs. Fortunately, community members stepped in immediately: three dogs were adopted by local residents, while the other three were taken to the Bucks County SPCA in Lahaska, Pennsylvania. While the department appreciates the rescuer’s intentions, they emphasized that leaving animals in a park is not a safe or appropriate solution.
