Looking at the countless animals roaming the streets truly breaks my heart. But then, I remember that there are good people in this world who strive to help animals every day, which gives me hope. When one pup was abandoned at a local mall, he endured unimaginable pain. People were so cruel to him that they even began hitting him with their cars. Luckily, one of the mall workers noticed the pain in his eyes and started bringing him some tasty snacks.
As days passed, the worker realized the pup needed professional help and called in some rescue experts. The pup continued to limp around the parking lot, resting beneath a tree, unaware of the rescue efforts underway. Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy, a rescue organization based in Irvine, California, was on her way with her team. As soon as she saw the poor dog, her heart broke. The pain and suffering he had endured were evident in his sad expression. All he wanted was a good meal and a cozy place to rest, and he was about to get just that. WATCH VIDEO BELOW
To avoid scaring him away, Hall and her fellow rescuers set up a trap and waited for the pup to walk in on his own. And he did! When he noticed the rescuers approaching, he began wagging his tail in delight, knowing he was finally being saved.
The Californian rescuer quickly got him into her car and rushed him to the vet for a thorough medical examination. Afterward, the vets determined that the pup, now named Bruiser, had a broken pelvis that would require surgery. He remained at the vet’s office, receiving the medical attention he needed along with pain medication. WATCH VIDEO BELOW
Despite all this, Bruiser is one of the sweetest pups ever. He loves spending time with his new humans, showering them with hugs and kisses whenever possible. “It always amazes me how scared they are on the streets and how thankful they become once they know they’ve been rescued,” Hall shared in a Facebook post.
As he awaited surgery—which likely would have involved inserting a plate in his pelvis—Bruiser was surrounded by good company that provided him with fun and tasty food. However, something incredible happened: Bruiser began healing on his own! He no longer needed the expensive surgery; all he required was time and plenty of rest. This is what love and commitment can do for a pup! “Bruiser will be on cage rest with his wonderful foster mom. His hip fractures are healing on their own,” Hall updated. WATCH VIDEO BELOW
I am confident that the time spent with his amazing foster mom will help this sweet boy recover quickly. I can’t wait to see Bruiser running around and enjoying life with his forever family. He truly deserves the world!
