For the past ten years, Conrad, a senior Beagle, endured a life filled with neglect and abuse. He was discovered in terrible condition at a city shelter, completely withdrawn from the world around him. His physical state told a heartbreaking story: severely malnourished, with rotten teeth and deep depression. This frail dog had known nothing but suffering for a decade, but his life was about to take a dramatic turn.
Just as he was on the brink of being euthanized, the Beagle Freedom Project team from Los Angeles, California, learned about Conrad’s plight. After a decade of neglect, Conrad found himself in a shelter with little hope for a fresh start. Fortunately, the BFP team acted quickly to save him. In a video posted by the rescue, Kait, the social media manager, highlighted the dire situation of this senior dog. “This poor boy is in horrific condition. He is emaciated; his hips and spine are protruding, and his skin is extremely dry,” Kait explained.
Thanks to the community and dedicated caregivers, Conrad received a new chance at life. After weeks of loving care, proper nutrition, and dental surgery, hope began to emerge for Conrad. “We are thrilled to share that after a month of intensive care, nutritious meals, and dental work, Conrad is feeling much better. He’s rediscovering joy—exploring, playing, and even rummaging through the trash like a typical beagle,” the rescue shared in an update.
But the good news didn’t stop there. In the same post, the rescue announced a heartwarming development: after spending meaningful weeks in his foster home, Conrad’s foster dad couldn’t resist adopting him. WATCH VIDEO BELOW
“His wonderful foster dad fell in love with him and decided to make it official—Conrad now has a forever family,” the rescue added.
After a lifetime of neglect and suffering, Conrad finally found a warm, loving home and a family that cherishes him. This is everything he had been longing for all along.
