One day, a family decided to surrender their dog to the shelter after seven years of companionship. As they closed the shelter door, the dog’s reaction touched a shelter employee so profoundly that she felt compelled to share the experience with others. In a TikTok video posted by @lovinpet.global, a Livestock Guardian dog can be seen standing in front of the shelter door, gazing sadly at the employee.
“She wanted to wait by the door, thinking they were coming back,” the video states. “She loved the children; after all, she is a guardian dog.” Soon, the shelter employee approached the dog to offer comfort, knowing that “these dogs go through so much pain when they are surrendered.” Thanks to this kind soul, the poor dog was able to calm down somewhat, but sadly, the deep wound inflicted by those she trusted the most would remain forever. “Please love them and protect them to the end,” the video concludes.
